Chenggang Village, Caiyuan Town, 30 miles east of Tangyin County, is the hometown of Yue Fei, a national hero of the Southern Song Dynasty. Every year on Yue Fei's birthday, Tangyin County holds grand memorial and sacrificial ceremonies to express the people's remembrance and admiration for this national hero. In recent years, Tangyin County has renovated Yue Fei's former residence, the Yue family ancestral tomb, and the Yue Fei Temple, transforming Yue Fei's hometown into a venue for patriotic education.
Yue Fei's rise from an ordinary peasant's family to a national hero etched with lasting renown is inseparable from his excellent family education. He not only learned superb martial arts from Zhou Tong, but also the virtues of loyalty, filial piety, chastity, and righteousness from his mother. Behind every hero is a heroic mother. When visiting Tangyin to pay homage to Yue Fei, his hometown is a great place to visit. Chenggang Village, 16 kilometers east of Tangyin County, is where Yue Fei was born. According to historical records, this is Yue Fei's birthplace. Legend has it that after Yue Fei's death, the villagers dispersed, and later, floods submerged the village.
In the early Ming Dynasty, a family surnamed Cheng migrated from Shanxi and settled and multiplied here, naming it Chenggang after the prominent terrain. In the mid-Ming Dynasty, after the Yue Fei Temple was built in Tangyin County, villagers also built a temple to the west, calling it "The Former Residence of Yue Fei, King of E," and erected several stone tablets. Modeled after the Yue Fei Temple in the county seat, it faces south and features a main hall, east and west wings, an ancestral pavilion, and a Xiao'e Temple. After leaving Yue Fei's former residence, visitors can visit his ancestral tomb, located west of Nanzhouliu Village, 11 kilometers east of Tangyin County. Here, Yue Fei's great-grandfather, grandfather, and father are buried, covering an area of over 10 mu.
The temperate monsoon climate offers distinct four seasons. Yue Fei's former residence, with its magnificent architecture and unique sculptures, depicts scenes from Yue Fei's youth, highlighting his steadfast loyalty and filial piety. His patriotic spirit is worthy of emulation for every generation. It's a great place to visit in all seasons.

After leaving Yue Fei's former residence, visitors can visit his ancestral tomb, located west of Nanzhouliu Village, 11 kilometers east of Tangyin County. The tombs, covering over 10 mu (approximately 16 acres), are the burial places of Yue Fei's great-grandfather, grandfather, and father.
