Designed by the Architectural Design Institute of Tsinghua University, the Pingdingshan Museum's exterior design is inspired by the imagery of ancient Chinese bamboo slips. Its walls are composed of abstracted bamboo slips, creating a majestic and imposing form with a rich ancient charm. This also embodies the museum's role as a messenger of civilization. Spanning approximately 54 mu (approximately 1.6 acres) and with a total construction area of 30,000 square meters, the Pingdingshan Museum is a large-scale, comprehensive, and fully functional modern public cultural facility in Pingding City. It offers a cultural venue where the public can experience its profound cultural heritage, connect with its long history, and enjoy the fruits of its cultural development.
The first and second floors are the Pingdingshan City cultural relics display and exhibition area with the cultural history of Yingcheng as the background. It is divided into four exhibition halls, namely Exhibition Hall No. 1 Shanxia Guyuan Exhibition Hall on the south side of the first floor, Exhibition Hall No. 2 Yingguo Impression Exhibition Hall on the north side, Exhibition Hall No. 3 Chu and Han Civilization Exhibition Hall on the north side of the second floor, and Exhibition Hall No. 4 Tang and Song Dynasty Remaining Rhymes Exhibition Hall on the south side.
