Located in the scenic Nanshan Forest Scenic Area in Nankang District, Ganzhou City, Harmony City is a park themed around surname culture. It comprises the Harmony Hall, home to 108 surname ancestral halls; the expansive Hundred Family Surnames Square; and the shimmering Yuchi Lake.
Harmony City is divided into three sections. The first is the "Harmony Hall," a replica of the ancient Qing Dynasty architecture. It comprises three main halls and 108 ancestral halls representing hundreds of surnames, covering a total area of 29,998 square meters. The three main halls are Qiankun Hall, Shizu Hall, and Xihe Hall. These 108 ancestral halls, nestled in the hillside, are arranged in three rows, forming a "national" pattern with the outer circulation road, symbolizing peace and prosperity for the country and the people. The second section is the grand and spacious Harmony Square, covering 81,680 square meters (a scenic and ecologically friendly garden square). The third section is the over 50-mu (approximately 166 acres) Yuchi Lake, with its rippling emerald waters and shimmering waters, which adds a stunning backdrop to the entire Harmony City.
The most distinctive building in Harmony Hall is the Huang Clan Ancestral Hall, the eighth room from the first row. Facing south and north, the hall features a main entrance archway with brackets and a courtyard. Within, it houses a pond, a patio, and the ancestral hall. Its mixed beam structure, central axis symmetry, and courtyard-style design create a well-planned, solemn, and elegant layout. Its prominent Hakka architectural style and vibrant colors, complemented by couplets and plaques, imbue it with the rich cultural heritage of the Huang Clan.
