Formed over tens of millions of years of mountain building, Qiyun Mountain's main peak, Qiyun Peak, rises 2,061.3 meters above sea level. Its forests are composed of granite. The Qiyun Mountain Nature Reserve has a total forest area of ​​17,105 hectares, with a forest coverage rate of 97.6%. The soil distribution is vertically distributed, categorized as red soil, yellow-red soil, yellow soil, dark yellow-brown soil, and mountain meadow soil.
