The Second Soviet Scenic Area, located in Shazhouba, 1.5 kilometers northwest of the city, houses the Great Hall of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic. It is the only large building built by the Red Army in Ruijin. Its unique shape, viewed from the air, resembles an octagonal Red Army hat stuck to the earth. It is known as the predecessor of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Second National People's Congress of the Chinese Soviet Republic was held here.
