Fuzhou Museum, first established in June 1984, is located in the Cultural Square north of the city's administrative center, adjacent to the Fuzhou Library and the Tang Xianzu Theater. Its collection primarily features porcelain, pottery, and coins, along with bronze mirrors, calligraphy and paintings, and other miscellaneous items. It includes two first-class cultural relics, 16 second-class cultural relics, and 519 third-class cultural relics.
Fuzhou City belongs to the southern humid and rainy monsoon climate zone, with a humid climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient light and heat, distinct four seasons, and a long growing season.
Due to the complex terrain and changeable climate, droughts, floods, winds, hail, thunder and lightning, and low temperatures often occur.
Fuzhou City Museum currently has a collection of more than 30,000 cultural relics, mainly porcelain, pottery, and coins, as well as bronze mirrors, calligraphy and paintings, and miscellaneous items. Among them, there are 2 first-class cultural relics, 16 second-class cultural relics, and 519 third-class cultural relics.
The museum consists of four main exhibition halls: "Historical Civilization Exhibition," "Linchuan Culture Exhibition," "Gandong Beacon Fire Exhibition," and "Dinosaur Kingdom Exhibition," as well as several temporary exhibition halls. It is a comprehensive municipal museum integrating cultural relic collection, exhibition, learning and education, academic research, and tourism.
