Tuanshan Ancient Village is a famous historical and cultural village with a fusion of local ethnic culture and Central Plains culture. It has numerous historical relics, a complete overall layout and style, and an authentic traditional style. It is an "original village that has completely preserved the characteristics of the 19th century" and "the most exquisite ancient residential complex in Yunnan". It is also a quiet place in Jianshui, Yunnan that is not disturbed by many people.
It was included in the 2006 World Monumental Heritage List.
Tuanshan Village, located 13 kilometers west of Jianshui Ancient City, was historically inhabited by the Yi people. In the Yi language, it's called "Tushe'er," meaning "a place where gold and silver are hidden." Built on a sloping land, the village is nestled against green mountains and faces the fertile Xizhuang Basin. The Lujiang River, the Gebish Railway, and the Jishi Expressway all run east-west through the village, offering convenient transportation and a beautiful natural environment.
