Zhengying, a renowned historical and cultural village, lies 10 kilometers southwest of Shiping County and southeast of Baoxiu Town. Zhengying boasts picturesque scenery and is home to numerous surnames, including Zheng, Wu, Chen, and Li, each with its own ancestral hall. The village resembles a market town, with three streets and nine alleys named after their surnames and geographical location.
On November 16, 1993, the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall in Zhengying Village was listed as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in Yunnan Province; in early 1999, Zhengying Village was listed as the first and only provincial-level historical and cultural village in Yunnan Province, and was hailed as "Yunnan's No. 1 Village."
The village has 403 quadrangle courtyards, 28 of which are well-preserved. The village's famous buildings, the Chen and Zheng Ancestral Halls, are grand in scale, decorated with exquisite wood carvings, and their carvings, calligraphy, and paintings all demonstrate a high level of cultural literacy.
The subtropical plateau monsoon climate has a relatively uniform seasonal pattern, with rainy and cool summers and warm winters. All seasons are suitable for travel.
Zhengying Village boasts streets paved with bluestone slabs, and most houses are large courtyard-style buildings facing south, preserving the local character. Furthermore, the village boasts the magnificent and well-preserved Chen and Zheng clan ancestral halls. The village's ancestral halls, pavilions, schools, and typical residential buildings combine the grandeur of ancient pagodas, the majesty of palaces and temples, the exquisite elegance of pavilions, and the tranquility and elegance of classical gardens, creating a unique historical and cultural landscape.
