
Yunju Mountain, formerly known as Ou Mountain, is located in the southwest of Yongxiu County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is a famous Buddhist mountain in China and a national key scenic spot. The Zhenru Temple on the top of the mountain is the birthplace of Zen Buddhism (Caodong Sect), one of the "three model jungles" of Buddhism in the country, and a national key open temple.
Yunju Mountain covers a total area of 216.5 square kilometers, with its main peak at an elevation of 969.7 meters. It is a mountainous natural scenic spot ideal for religious and leisure tourism. Yunju Mountain boasts stunning natural scenery, particularly the Hundred Flowers Valley, known as a paradise on earth.
Along the way, you'll find breathtaking mountains and rocks, streams and waterfalls, ancient temple archways, and pagodas. The mountain boasts fresh air and lush vegetation, boasting nearly 2,000 species of natural vegetation, including thousand-year-old fir, camphor, ginkgo, osmanthus, oak, and nearly thousand-year-old bole trees, fragrant fruit trees, and podocarpus. The temperature in midsummer is as low as 22 degrees Celsius.
Yunju Mountain has a subtropical monsoon climate, with temperatures reaching only 22 degrees Celsius in the hottest summer, making it a perfect place to escape the heat. Summer is the best time to visit.
Yunju Mountain has scenic spots such as Lotus City, Hundred Flowers Valley, Yunju Mountain Zhenru Temple, Xugong Pagoda Courtyard, Xuyun Memorial Hall, Mingyue Lake, Bixi Bridge, Talking Stone, Five Dragons Pond, Eminent Monk Pagoda Forest, Zhishu Hall, Primeval Forest and Master Haideng.
