The Lushan West Sea Scenic Area is located in northern Jiangxi Province and southwest of Jiujiang City, spanning Wuning and Yongxiu counties. The lake and islands offer stunning scenery, home to the "panda of the water" moon jellyfish, and pristine mineral-rich hot springs, renowned for their health and longevity. Yunju Mountain, with its main peak at 969 meters, has long been known as "the highest mountain in the Yangtze River, and the highest in four hundred states."
The Zhenru Zen Temple in the Lotus City on the top of the mountain has a long history of more than 1,200 years. It is the birthplace of the Caodong School of Chinese Buddhism. Four of the five presidents of the Buddhist Association of New China have come from here, so it is also known as the "cradle of Buddhist leaders of New China."
