Langjing, located in the heart of Jiujiang's old city, near the Yangtze River in Langjing Lane on Xiyuan Road, was dug by Guan Ying , a renowned Western Han Dynasty general, while he was stationed in Jiujiang in 201 BC. Li Bai, in his poem "Leaving Xunyang City and Sailing to Pengli to Send to Judge Huang," wrote: " Waves stir Guanying's well, the wind blows from the Xunyang River." Langjing, known for its " Sound of Waves ," was once one of the ten scenic spots of Jiujiang in ancient times.
There is a square pavilion with four corners protecting the Langjing. The walls of the pavilion are embedded with poems about the Langjing by Li Bai and Su Zhe. Inside the pavilion is the Langjing and a stele. The diameter of the well mouth of the Langjing is less than one meter, and the well is about 15 meters deep. There are many rope marks on the edge of the well mouth, and the well wall is mottled with moss, but the spring water at the bottom of the well is still clear. It is famous for the fact that there is said to be a spring at the bottom of the well connected to the Yangtze River, with the wonder of " waves on the river surface and waves at the bottom of the well " , which is a unique sight. Unfortunately, this scene no longer exists.
