Wenjia, facing the Cangyang Grassland of Qinghai Lake, watched over Tsangyang Gyatso as he disappeared by the shore. Tsangyang Gyatso, the Sixth Dalai Lama, was a legendary historical figure, renowned for his brilliant talent and eloquence. His reincarnation, dethronement, imperial edict, death on the path to enlightenment, and nirvana, culminating in his disappearance on a snowy night, a scene of much debate. Every poem he left behind touches us all.
Wenjia offers a spectacular view of the setting sun over Qinghai Lake in July. The scenic area also offers free sunset tenting during the July sunset season, available through reservations. Each tent faces Qinghai Lake, offering a panoramic, unobstructed view of the sunset.
