
Aixihu Wetland Park, located on the east bank of Aixihu Lake in Donghu District, is the only typical natural urban wetland in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Spanning approximately 3,000 mu (approximately 1,000 hectares), the eastern bank of Aixihu Lake serves as a primary feeding and roosting spot for migratory birds east of Nanchang and serves as an urban birdpath for birds traveling from Nanchang to Poyang Lake.
The Migratory Bird Park is divided into three attractions: Crane Garden, Swan Lake and Wild Goose Island . There are three major categories of wetland migratory birds: cranes, swans and wild geese, with a total of about 500 birds and more than 10,000 koi fish , which are used for domestication, breeding, exhibition, scientific research and protection.
Since the construction of the park began in September 2007 , more than 50,000 trees , more than 40,000 bamboos , 600,000 square meters of lawns, and more than 30 islands have been planted . More than 160 tree species are planned to be planted , and more than 120 varieties have been planted, including southern jujube trees, liana trees, wintersweets, redbuds, metasequoias, slash pines, and small steel bamboos .
