Taohua Island is an island under the jurisdiction of Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, located on the East China Sea. Huang Yaoshi, the "East Evil" in Mr. Jin Yong's famous works "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" and "The Return of the Condor Heroes", lived on this island.
Taohua Island, with its densely packed hills and undulating terrain and lush forests, is known as the "Botanical Garden of the Sea." The island comprises six scenic areas: Tawan Golden Sands, Anqi Peak, Big Buddha Rock, Taohua Harbor, Queqiao Gate, and Wushi Gravel Beach. Other attractions include over 60 others, including Dragon Girl Peak, East China Sea Pearl, Baique Temple, Shengyan Temple, the Shy Guanyin, the Immortal Bridge, Huang Yaoshi's Residence, and Qingyin Cave. The diverse and bizarre stone formations here captivate visitors. Legend has it that a celestial being, on a tour of inspection, passed by the East China Sea and, captivated by the enchanting scenery of Taohua Island, refused to return to Heaven and instead transformed himself into stone, residing there permanently.
