The park, hailed as one of Xining's "New Eight Scenic Spots," is known for its solemn elegance, tranquility, and exquisite design. Backed by the rolling Yakniu Mountains and facing the Beichuan River, Qiaotou Park overlooks the majestic Yuanshuo Mountain, towering over Sanchuan, to the south, and bordered by the lush Experimental Forest Farm to the north. The surrounding terrain is open and flat, with fertile fields alternating between them.
The park boasts an ingenious layout and unique design, showcasing the unique grandeur and vastness of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau while embodying the dynamic and elegant charm of Jiangnan gardens. The inscription by provincial calligrapher Zhong Xijiu, "Three sides surrounded by green mountains, four sides by willows, a garden filled with spring breeze and half by flowers," is a fitting description of Qiaotou Park.
