Puji Temple, located west of Lijiang Old Town and 6 kilometers from the county seat, is one of Lijiang's five major temples. Originally comprising 12 courtyards, including the main hall and monasteries, Puji Temple now boasts three remaining courtyards, encompassing the mountain gate, Dharma Protector Hall, main hall, and north and south wings. Its doctrines are characterized by the integration of Han and Tibetan religions. Two Yunnan cherry trees, over 200 years old and so thick that one person can't hug them, stand before the main hall. Every spring, the fiery red blossoms complement the pristine white pear blossoms surrounding the temple, creating a striking contrast.

Before the Puji Temple, there's a spacious lawn offering recreational opportunities. To the southwest of the temple lies a clear spring, flowing year-round. Particularly distinctive is the main hall, a double-eaved hip roof covered in copper tiles, earning it the nickname "Copper Tile Hall." The copper tiles cover an area of ​​46.4 square meters, making it the only surviving copper-tiled building in Yunnan.
