Shen Congwen is a renowned modern writer and a representative figure of the Beijing School of Fiction. In 1931, he arrived in Qingdao to teach Chinese at Qingdao University, where he resided at 3 Fushan Road. He subsequently wrote masterpieces such as "Congwen's Autobiography," "In Memory of Ding Ling," "Moonlight Scene," and "Eight Horses." "Border Town" was also conceived during this period. Shen Congwen himself once said that his time in Qingdao was "the period of my most productive life, and my writing matured."
Now this former residence is not open to the public. Visitors who come here can only take photos at the door and feel the cultural atmosphere here.
