Qingdao Mountain is located on the west side of Qingdao Zhongshan Park, adjacent to Qingdao Baihua Garden. After Germany occupied Qingdao, it named the mountain "Bismarck Mountain" after the German Chancellor, and built two permanent artillery batteries in the south of the mountain, namely the "Bismarck Battery".
Qingdao Mountain, a 128-meter-high mountain extending westward from Taiping Mountain, was fortified by the late Qing Dynasty general Zhang Gaoyuan, who built his barracks on its southwest slope. During the Sino-German War, this fort inflicted heavy losses on the Japanese. The well-preserved steel mount and concrete gun stand bear witness to the colonial invasion of Qingdao.
