At the eastern foot of Dazhu Mountain lies Zhushan Xiugu, a scenic corridor in Dazhu Mountain. Every year in early May, the slopes along the valley are covered in azaleas, a scene that can only be described as vibrant and colorful. This sea of azaleas has become the signature attraction of Zhushan Xiugu, a place that makes people linger.
This valley is five miles long, with a swift stream flowing through it, emptying into an artificial lake at the foot of the mountain. The mountains along the coast differ somewhat from those inland: the inland mountains are more rugged, while the coastal mountains are more delicate. In May, the azaleas bloom, creating a dazzling display of crimson, a breathtaking spectacle that beckons visitors. Walking around the lake and along the stream into the valley, visitors feel like stepping into a picturesque scene.
In April, the beautiful valleys of Mount Zhu are awash with flowers, and the people fill the valleys. The flowers and the crowds combine to create a tourist attraction. Climbing to the summit, you can see azaleas blooming in several valleys to the south, resembling clouds and rosy clouds from afar.
Qingdao is located in the northern temperate monsoon region and has a temperate monsoon climate with humid air, abundant rainfall, moderate temperature and distinct four seasons.

Night visits and light shows are not available. The valley is best explored during daylight hours, especially as the trails can be difficult to navigate after dark.

Nearby attractions include Qingdao’s beaches, the famous Zhanqiao Pier, and the Tsingtao Brewery. These landmarks are within an hour's drive, making them ideal for a day trip combined with a visit to Zhushan Valley.
There are a few souvenir stalls near the entrance selling traditional Chinese handicrafts, local snacks, and souvenirs like small jade ornaments and wooden carvings.
Taxi or private car service is the best way to continue your trip from Zhushan Valley. Public buses are available but may not be as convenient, especially if you're heading to other attractions in Qingdao.
