Introducing Strange Forest

The Strange Forest, located 28 kilometers southwest of Dalaihub Town in Ejina Banner, is actually formed by the death of a large expanse of Populus euphratica trees. Populus euphratica is the oldest tree group and a "living fossil" of plants. The taproot of a single Populus euphratica tree can penetrate over a hundred meters into the earth. "Living for a thousand years, it endures for a thousand years after death, and remains undying for a thousand years after its fall"—this is the life story of the Populus euphratica forest.

The dense, lush poplar trees are filled with a myriad of strange shapes and expressions. Strolling through the dense forest feels like entering a mythical wonderland. The millennia-old dead poplars, the breathtaking spectacle of life, and the excellent light and shadow conditions make this a paradise for photography enthusiasts. Located in the arid Gobi Desert, visitors should be prepared for sun protection, wind, and sand year-round. Bring sunglasses, a headscarf, and lip balm.
