Introducing Datong City Ruins

The Datong City Ruins, located within the Heicheng Ruins Scenic Area, are far smaller and less well-preserved than Heicheng. It embodies the history of the Sui and Tang dynasties, and now only ruins remain.

It is also known as " Horse Circle City " because of its many horse pens and harnesses . Built in the middle of the Tang Dynasty, it was the site of the Datong City of Emperor Yuwen Yong of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. It was also the seat of the Datong Town and Anbei Protectorate during the Sui and Tang Dynasties.
