Located in Dewei Village, Jinshan Township, Lijiang, the Golden Pagoda Scenic Area is a magnificent Tibetan Buddhist monastery. The area features a statue of Guru Padmasambhava, the Guanyin Hall, the Thousand Buddhas and Ten Thousand Lamps Hall, the Ashoka Pillar, the Heavenly King Hall, a Maitreya Buddha statue, and the Mandala Hall. The iconic Dongbao Zunsheng Pagoda, constructed from 208 kilograms of gold, is a truly spectacular sight.
The Dongbao Zunsheng Pagoda was originally built during the Tang Dynasty and renovated in 2004 under the supervision of the 17th Dongbao Zhongba Living Buddha, Hutuktu. The pagoda is a classic Tibetan style, gilded throughout with 208 kilograms of gold, creating a magnificent and radiant scene. The main hall on the first floor houses the Padmasambhava Mandala and 81 statues of the God of Wealth in 18 directions. This massive mandala, a fusion of the cultural essences of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, is truly a monumental God of Wealth. The second floor houses the pure gold Dharmakaya of the Fifth Karmapa, Deyin Xieba, along with numerous treasures and Buddhist texts.
