Introducing Zhongyi Market

Zhongyi Market is the only existing farmers' market in Lijiang Old Town and the core of life for the people in the old town. The market is filled with vendors selling vegetables, daily necessities and local specialties. It is the most lively place in Lijiang Old Town besides Sifang Street. Zhongyi Market is also the place with the highest concentration of local Naxi people in Lijiang Old Town.

In the whole Lijiang Ancient Town, we only heard the long-missed Naxi language and Lijiang dialect when we came to Zhongyi Market. Only here can we see so many Naxi elders wearing blue Naxi costumes and covered with stars and moon. Of course, there is also a group of Naxi elders dancing in Sifang Street every day, but that is a job assigned to them by the relevant departments after their retirement.
