The Shangyu Ancient Road Dihua Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is located in Danfeng County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. The scenic area is based on the original Chinese civilization, with the historical and cultural allusions and relics of the Shangyu Ancient Road in the pre-Qin period, the lifestyle of the place where Qin and Chu merged, and the natural ecological resources of the Qinling-Danjiang Mountains as important contents. It creates historical and cultural creative experience spaces, tourism spaces and cultural reproduction spaces.
The ancient Shangyu Road is the place where the Shang State rose and one of the birthplaces of Chu culture. It was a strategic channel for the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties to govern the southern country. It was the strategic focus of the struggle between Qin and Chu during the Warring States Period. It was the strategic fulcrum for Qin to turn the tide and unify the world.
From ancient times to the present, the area is rich in stories and relics, including those of the ancient state of Shaoxi, Duke Zhou's flight to Chu, Zhang Yi's deception of Chu, Shang Yang's reforms, the Four Elders' retreat, and the ancient city of Wangling. The footprints and works of figures such as Monk Wuye, Yixing, Li Bai, Han Yu, Li Zicheng, Li Xiannian, and Jia Pingwa have been passed down. This is a strategic military and transportation route, a path of reform and progress, a path of integration between civilizations, a path of humanistic refinement, a path of economic and trade cooperation, and a path of ecological well-being, combining the beauty of humanity and nature.
The warm temperate semi-humid monsoon climate features four distinct seasons, with rain and heat occurring in the same season, and distinct dry and wet seasons in the summer and winter. Avoid the cold winter and travel in spring, summer, and autumn.
The Dihua Cultural Tourism Scenic Area, once the Dihua Posthouse on the ancient "Six Hundred Li Shangyu Ancient Road," is also the hometown of renowned contemporary writer Jia Pingwa. The scenic area boasts attractions such as the ecological lotus pond, the Erlang Temple cultural relics area, Qingfeng Street, the Pingwa Literature Museum, the Pingwa Old Residence, Songjin Street, the Dihua Capital's ten nursery and flower gardens, and the Ebony Museum.
