Qianlou Cave is located between the Thousand Buddha Cliff reliefs on Thousand Buddha Mountain in Jinan, east of Jile Cave. The cave is several feet deep and damp. At the third bend, there's a rectangular cave measuring over 20 square meters and about two meters high. Legend has it that the renowned scholar Qianlouzi of the State of Qi once lived in seclusion here. In the center stands a seated statue of Qianlouzi, with a white beard and a tall turban, sitting solemnly, as if lost in thought. A stone inscription at the entrance describes Qianlouzi's life and deeds.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
