
Shandong Normal University, located in Jinan, Shandong Province, is a comprehensive normal university. It is a joint venture between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Shandong Provincial People's Government. It is a member of the National Training Program and the National Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program. It is one of the first national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, one of the first key universities in Shandong Province to cultivate applied foundational talent, and a key university in Shandong Province.
As of December 2018, the university has two campuses, Qianfoshan Campus and Changqing Lake Campus. The campus covers an area of nearly 4,000 mu, with a building area of 1.4105 million square meters and teaching and research equipment with a total value of 466.6521 million yuan. It has 21 colleges (departments) and 84 undergraduate majors. There are 14 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, 33 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, and 16 professional degree authorization categories. The library has a collection of 4.1105 million books and periodicals. There are 31,582 full-time undergraduate students.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
