Wuhua Tower, located in Dali Ancient City, was once the reception place for the Nanzhao king. After several renovations, it was most recently rebuilt in 1998. One of the more impressive buildings in the ancient city, Wuhua Tower offers panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and the ancient city, as well as a great place for photos. The tower is especially beautiful at night when it is illuminated.

Wuhua Tower is now three stories high, with a walkway at the bottom. Hanging above the doorway is a plaque with the Chinese characters "Dali" (literally "Dali"), and taking a photo beneath it is a must-do for many tourists. A large calligraphy and painting market has formed around the Wuhua Tower, with shops selling calligraphy, traditional Chinese paintings, and other artworks.
