Located in Yousuo Town, Eryuan County, Dali's West Lake lies at the foot of Yunnong Peak in Cangshan Mountain. It's a plateau freshwater lake. Reeds sway in the waters, and the surrounding villages are quiet and picturesque, creating a distinctly Jiangnan water village atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy boat rides, tea tastings, and fish tastings, experiencing the rural charm of the plateau water village.
West Lake admission includes a boat ticket and three cups of tea. Take a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the refreshing scenery. The reeds gently sway, and egrets fly by from time to time. It's a beautiful sight. You can also hear the boatmen singing Bai folk songs.
Once the boat docks, visit a Bai ethnic group farmhouse, where you can experience the authentic "Three-Course Tea" and enjoy a performance of Bai folk song and dance. Finally, order a plate of the famous "Lake Water Boiled Live Fish" to fully experience the charm of Eryuan West Lake. This tour of West Lake generally takes 2-3 hours, after which you can return to Dali Ancient Town.
The low-latitude plateau has a monsoon climate; March and April are the best months with moderate temperatures. As a song goes, "Dali is beautiful in March," so spring is the best season to visit Dali.
