Louguan Terrace, one of the earliest and most important sacred sites of Chinese Taoism and the birthplace of the Taoist Louguan tradition, is often called Louguan Terrace because its platform for preaching scriptures resembles an ark floating in a sea of ​​bamboo and pine trees. Located in Zhouzhi County, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, in the central northern foothills of the Qinling Mountains, it is 70 kilometers east of Xi'an and 15 kilometers west of Zhouzhi County. It is a famous sacred site and is considered the first of the 72 Taoist blessed sites.

Louguantai, founded in the Western Zhou Dynasty, played a crucial role in the imperial family's faith throughout the Wei, Zhou, Sui, and Tang dynasties. It reached its peak during the Sui and Tang dynasties, declined during the Song and Jin dynasties, was destroyed at the end of the Song dynasty, and has been revived ever since. Legend has it that during the Spring and Autumn Period, the commander of Hangu Pass, Yin Xi, built a tower of grass here to observe the celestial phenomena, hence the name Caolouguan.

The Louguantai Scenic Area covers 323,000 square kilometers and includes the Louguan, Jinniuping, Muziping, and Jiuyu Scenic Areas. Louguan is the core scenic area, with the Sutra-Talking Platform as its main attraction, where Laozi is said to have lectured on the 5,000-word Tao Te Ching. The area boasts over 30 temples and shrines, including one famous Chinese calligraphy stele, five provincial-level cultural relics protection sites, and over 20 provincial-level ancient trees of seven species, surrounded by lush bamboo and forests.
