
Dali University (Dali University), located in Dali, Yunnan, has been selected as a pilot university for the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Doctors Education and Training Program." It is a comprehensive undergraduate institution with strengths in medicine, pharmacy, education, and biology, and specialties in ethnology and the arts. It boasts a multidisciplinary, integrated approach and coordinated development at multiple levels. The university has two campuses: the Old City Campus and the Xiaguan Campus. The Old City Campus is generally visited by tourists.
The university's predecessors were Dali Medical College and Dali Teachers College, both established in 1978. In October 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the two merged to form Dali College. Dali Industrial School and Yunnan Radio and Television University's Dali branch were also incorporated into the university. On April 29, 2015, the university was officially renamed Dali University.
As of June 2016, the university boasts two campuses, Gucheng and Xiaguan, covering over 2,300 mu (approximately 16,000 acres) and 550,000 square meters (approximately 1,000 square meters) of campus space. The university currently has over 17,000 full-time students and over 21,000 continuing education students. The university boasts 1,012 full-time faculty members, including 462 with associate senior professional titles or higher, over 130 professors, and over 700 with master's degrees or higher.
Dali University boasts a low-latitude plateau monsoon climate. Its cherry blossoms are renowned, and during cherry blossom season, they bloom in a forest, creating a vibrant pink feast. Even in winter, Dali University still boasts blossoms, offering visitors a breathtaking sea of blossoms from winter to spring.
