Introducing Zhaowentai

Zhaowen Terrace is located within Wenshan Park in Wendeng. Legend has it that during his eastern tour, Emperor Qin Shihuang summoned scholars to the mountain to discuss their merits and virtues, hence the name. To commemorate the emperor's visit, terraces were built on the site during the Qi and Song dynasties, named "Zhaowen." During the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, extensive construction efforts expanded the existing structure, creating an unprecedented grandeur that led to the saying, "If you haven't visited Zhaowen Terrace, you haven't seen Dengzhou Prefecture." In 1940, Zhaowen Terrace and the other ancient buildings were completely destroyed by the invading Japanese army.

The area also houses a roller skating rink, an amusement park, and other facilities, forming Wenshan Park. It is a vital leisure and entertainment destination for Wendeng residents and visitors alike. The rebuilt Zhaowentai has hosted numerous distinguished guests, including Party and state leaders, and has become a must-see for tourists visiting Wendeng. Today, Zhaowentai has become a landmark in Wendeng City.
