Zhengqi Mountain is located in Caomiaozi Town, southeast of Weihai's city center. Some local residents often remark that on clear days, from the summit, one could see Rongcheng's Shidao Bay. While this may be a bit of an exaggeration, it suggests the air quality here is quite good, and a visit offers a unique escape from the city.
Zhengqi Mountain is also a treasure trove of natural flora, home to over 500 species of wild trees, flowers, and herbs, as well as a vast expanse of Chinese medicinal herbs. With the arrival of spring, the mountains turn green, trees sprout lush green, flowers bloom, birds sing, and visitors flock to the mountains for a spring outing, bringing the entire mountain to life.
The scenic area features the Wolong Mountain Ancient Buildings, restored with investment from the Weihai Tourism Company. From the outside, the complex appears shrouded in mist, with its double-eaved roofs and glazed red walls, exuding a simple and elegant aesthetic. Inside, the complex houses the Heavenly Palace, the Underground Palace, the Entertainment Palace, the Giant Buddha, a mummy exhibition hall, and exhibition halls showcasing human specimens, marine animals, and birds and beasts.
It has a temperate continental semi-humid monsoon climate with distinct four seasons, moderate cold and hot seasons, synchronized light and temperature, and simultaneous rain and heat. Spring is dry and windy, summer is hot and rainy, autumn is sunny and refreshing, and winter is cold and snowy.
