The scenic area is located close to the 3123 km post of National Highway 320, 11 kilometers away from Midu County, 21 kilometers away from Xiangyun County, and only 56 kilometers away from Dali City, with convenient transportation.

Dali Midu Dongshan National Forest Park has a total of 74 landscapes, including 33 cultural landscapes, 41 natural landscapes, and a forest area of ​​3,780 hectares. Midu Dongshan National Forest Park has charming scenery, outstanding cave landscapes, and integrated features of mountains and waters. It has the forest characteristics of "majestic, strange, beautiful, secluded and wild".

Dongshan National Forest Park in Midu County developed from the Dongshan State-Owned Forest Farm in Midu County. In 1988, Dongshan Forest Farm actively developed the tertiary industry to escape poverty. A forestry guesthouse, restaurant, and dance hall were built at the farm headquarters, along with supporting facilities such as a parking lot and a repair shop. In 1992, Dongshan National Forest Park, seizing the opportunity and responding to national policy, applied for and established the Dongshan National Forest Park, covering a planned area of ​​94,227 mu.
