Tongchewan Leisure Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level scenic area located in the hinterland of the southern slope of the Qinling Mountains. It is a shining pearl in the hinterland of the Qinling Mountains. Its specific location is Tongchewan Town, Ningshan County, Shaanxi Province. The scenic area has abundant water resources and diverse water landscapes, mainly rivers, streams, waterfalls, springs and pools.
Deep valleys, winding streams, bizarre rock formations, charming peaks, lingering clouds, cascading waterfalls, and numerous lakes within the Tongchewan Recreation Area combine to create the Wenshui River Rafting Area's unique natural beauty: majestic, beautiful, unique, and secluded. As you drift down the clear stream in a rubber boat, you'll take in the breathtaking scenery of verdant mountains on both sides. The blue sky and white clouds, along with the magnificent highway, pass overhead, creating the feeling of "drifting in a painting, swimming in a painting."
The subtropical continental monsoon climate is characterized by a humid and mild climate with distinct four seasons, abundant rainfall, and a long frost-free period. Its characteristics are cold and dry winters, rainy summers with frequent summer droughts, warm and dry springs, and cool and humid autumns with frequent periods of rain. Spring, summer, and autumn are the best seasons for travel.
The scenic area covers approximately 12 square kilometers, with the Wenshui River rafting area covering approximately 2.8 square kilometers. The scenic area boasts seven major attractions, primarily focused on participatory water activities: Tongche Bay Rafting, Tongche Bay Happy Water World, Canglong Gorge River Traversal, City God Temple, Stone Buddha Terrace, Crested Ibis Rewilding Base, and Shibazhang Waterfall. Tongche Bay Rafting and Tongche Bay Happy Water World are the most notable attractions.
