Wang Guowei's former residence is located in Zhoujiadou, inside the west gate of Yanguan Town, Haining City, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. The former residence was built by his father Wang Naiyu when Wang Guowei was nine years old. He spent his entire teenage years here, nearly 12 years, and still came back to stay for a short time every year. Wang Guowei called it " West City Cottage " .
The former residence is a typical Jiangnan-style residence from the Qing Dynasty, facing south and overlooking the Qiantang River. The wooden courtyard-style building is simple and unpretentious, imbued with a cultural atmosphere. It features a patio and side rooms, forming a self-contained courtyard.
A bronze bust of Wang Guowei stands in the main hall, and the exhibition is divided into three parts: the first part introduces Wang Guowei's hometown, family background, and life. The second part introduces Wang Guowei's major academic achievements and displays his various works and manuscripts. The third part features research works by domestic and foreign experts and scholars on Wang Guowei.
