Jin Yong Academy, located southwest of the Temple of the Sea God in Yanguan Town, Haining City, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, received strong support from Jin Yong himself during its planning and construction. The architectural layout of the entire Jin Yong Academy is designed according to the layout of the most famous Anlan Academy in the Qing Dynasty. It consists of the Book and Sword Hall, the Library, the Water Pavilion, the Reception Building, the Haining Academy Exhibition Hall of All Ages, the Audio-visual Room, the Climbing Corridor and the Cloud Viewing Pavilion. It exudes the charm of the Jiangnan region, and every small scene is worth lingering.
The elegant academy resembles a small garden, its main space comprised of a lecture hall, a waterside courtyard , and a library . Rockeries, unusual rocks, and lush bamboo and banana trees create a breathtaking spectacle. Most importantly, it houses nearly every work by Jin Yong . Walking through the corridors, sculpted from characters from his novels, one feels as if stepping into Jin Yong's world of martial arts.
Sitting on a pavilion, looking at the red and yellow carp swimming in the water, watching the people coming in and out of the library, searching for one's own martial arts memories, it really feels like a picture of the misty landscape of Jiangnan . Here one can savor the heroic spirit of the rivers and lakes as described by Jin Yong.
