Introducing Luojiaba Ancient Town

Luojiaba Ancient Town, located in Luozhen Village, Luojiaba Town, 45 kilometers southwest of Xixiang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, is located at the source of the Muma River in the heart of the Qinba Mountains. It is one of the ten most beautiful ancient towns in southern Shaanxi. Anciently known as Jingjunba, it housed a military garrison during the Han Dynasty, earning its name from the nighttime terrors that startled the army. Merchants exchanged mules and horses here, leading to the name Luozhen. Later, it was renamed Zhongjiagou Township and Luojiaba Township.

Luojiaba has a long revolutionary history. The Maerya Incident, which shocked southern Shaanxi, took place here. The town is also a key stop on the Red Army's Route of Communications, where the famous Zhongjiagou Conference was held.

Luojiaba Ancient Town, built along the river, was first built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It is an important market town for people entering Sichuan from Shaanxi. It now has well-preserved ancient streets with the characteristics of southern Shaanxi and Bashan.
