Haichao Temple Forest Park is located on Dading Mountain behind Dashanshao Village in Siying Township. Lush forests, numerous ponds and springs create a picturesque environment. From the mountaintop, gazing northward, one can enjoy panoramic views of the idyllic Songming Basin. At the northern foot of the mountain lies a karst cave, 20-30 meters wide, approximately 30 meters high, and about 1,000 meters deep. It consists of two chambers, upper and lower, covering a total area of approximately 5,700 square meters. The cave's stalactites are shimmering and translucent in a myriad of shapes. After initial development, the cave has become even more spectacular, captivating, and has earned the nickname "Crystal Palace." The ancient Hai Temple, built in the Ming Dynasty and one of the eight great temples of Songming, gradually collapsed due to disrepair, and by the 1960s, only ruins remained.
The Crystal Palace consists of two parts: the upper one is winding and winding, while the lower one is more spacious. Inside, springs gurgle, and stalactites shimmer in a myriad of shapes and sizes, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Leaving the Crystal Palace, ascend a 400-step stone staircase to Haichao Temple. Three majestic gates crisscross the staircase, creating a sense of grandeur. Reaching the summit, one feels a sense of "a path to heaven, a gate to the earth."
