The design of Huize Courtyard features a distinct three-part facade, with a dominant horizontal division and a strong geometric composition. The decoration is primarily concentrated on prominent features, all of which are characteristic of French classical architecture.

In addition, the architecture of European colleges and universities at that time was more or less influenced by British Tudor architecture; from the floor plan of Huize Courtyard, the shrinkage and weakening of the side rooms to form an H-shaped plane form also vaguely reveals the shadow of 16th-century British Tudor architecture.
