Xiaozhan Military Training Park is part of Tianjin's "Viewing Tianjin in Modern China" initiative. Spanning 200,000 square meters, the park features not only city walls, a military academy, a military museum, and a training center for the New Army, but also Yuan Shikai's headquarters and a shopping street. During the late Qing Dynasty's New Deal reforms, training for the New Army was a priority for the Xiaozhan Military Training Park, historically the site of the "New Army" military academy. Yuan Shikai once supervised the training of his "New Army" here.

After the First Sino-Japanese War, the Xiaozhan Military Training Park was renovated with city walls, a military academy, barracks, Yuan Shikai's headquarters, and the New Army's training center. It also houses the Xiaozhan Military Training History Museum, a military museum, a cinema, and a shopping street. Additionally, it features a visitor service center, rest areas, and other supporting facilities, creating a story-telling historical and cultural tourism area that combines education, leisure, shopping, and conference facilities.

The exhibition hall displays a variety of cold and hot weapons, military uniforms, and military supplies. Exhibits include ancient Chinese cold weapons, modern hot weapons, military uniforms and military supplies from different periods, and tens of thousands of precious photographs are also a prominent feature of the Tianjin Xiaozhan Military Training Park exhibition hall.
