Panshan Martyrs Cemetery, located at the southern foot of Panshan Mountain in Jixian County, Tianjin, was built in 1959. It is the largest martyrs' cemetery in eastern Hebei Province and a major site for martyrs of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Tianjin. Spanning 20 hectares, the cemetery's main buildings include the Martyrs' Monument, a martyrs' cemetery, a stele gallery dedicated to the brief history of the Jixian Revolutionary Struggle, the Panshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall, the Shihai Battle Site, the "Eternal Memorial" sculpture, and an archway. The overall architecture is imbued with national style, grand and majestic, and awe-inspiring.
The cemetery is lined with lush pines and cypresses, and the monument is constructed from white marble. The Martyrs' Memorial Hall features portraits, biographies, and a roll of honor. Near the cemetery are slogans carved into rocks by anti-Japanese fighters from the Jidong guerrillas, as well as relics of battlefields, meeting places, radio stations, and newspaper offices.
