Huishi Park is a theme park built to commemorate the victorious meeting of the Chinese People's Liberation Army during the Battle of Peiping and Tianjin. Jintang Bridge, originally built in 1906, is a bridge of cultural and historical significance. During the Battle of Peiping and Tianjin, the People's Liberation Army met on the bridge, making it a landmark symbolizing the liberation of Tianjin. To commemorate this historic moment, after the bridge was renovated and restored to service, theme parks were built on both sides of the bridge, named Huishi Park.
The layout of Huishi Park is closely aligned with its theme. Both sides radiate toward Jintang Bridge, symbolizing the "reunion of the forces." Green spaces on either side of the park radiate from the Jintang Bridge, each radiating outward. Within these green spaces stand several sculptures depicting the PLA's "reunion." Two retired 35-ton military tanks and two artillery pieces are also displayed within the park, allowing visitors to contemplate the historic moment of the victorious reunion that liberated Tianjin. The park has become a key patriotic education center in central Tianjin.
