Thatbyinyu Pagoda, located in the heart of the Bagan pagoda complex in Myanmar, is the tallest Buddhist structure in Bagan and one of its remaining landmarks. Thatbyinyu means "Prajna," the Buddha's supreme wisdom. The pagoda consists of two floors, each with three stupas, which gradually descend and are adorned with battlements and small towers. Atop the pagoda is a tall golden stupa. The pagoda originally had a spiral staircase that led to the seven-story altar. From the top, the pagoda offers a breathtaking view overlooking the Bagan plains. The surrounding scenery at dawn and dusk is truly spectacular, earning it the nickname "Watchtower." However, all the stairs are now sealed, and ascending is prohibited.
