At Pofengling, visitors can enjoy scenic hikes through the mountainous terrain, explore the local flora and fauna, and take in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. It’s also a great spot for photography, nature walks, and camping if you wish to immerse yourself in the outdoors.

Beijing Pofengling is mostly populated by persimmon, walnut, peach, apricot, and poplar trees, accompanied by wild jujube, wild pear, and wild chrysanthemum. Ascending the steps halfway up the slope, the winding path is flanked by naturally tall cotinus trees, accompanied by elm, elm, jujube, and thorn.
The higher slopes are densely populated with towering sumac, koelreuteria, and poplar trees, so dense that the sun is blinded, creating a haven for rest and relaxation. Among these, there are tens of thousands of trees in seven or eight varieties, including maple, cotinus, and tung oil maple, displaying crimson leaves. The scenic area is an ideal spot for escaping the summer heat and enjoying the cool breeze, as well as admiring the crimson leaves that blanket the mountains in autumn.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet—who holds the colorful streamers dancing in the sky? Compared to the crimson leaves of Xiangshan, the crimson leaves of Pofengling hold a unique charm. If late autumn in Xiangshan is described as "the mountains ablaze with crimson, the forests drenched in color," then Pofengling is characterized by "red leaves amidst green, colorful streamers dancing in the sky." Red, yellow, green, pink, and black complement the blue sky and white clouds, creating from afar the illusion of streamers dancing in the sky, a flowing sea of color. The vibrant colors stem from the region's rich botanical diversity.
