Introducing Sino-Soviet Friendship Memorial Tower

The Sino-Soviet Friendship Memorial Tower is located in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, specifically in the center of the square in front of the Lushun Museum at Lushunkou.

The construction of the memorial tower began on February 23, 1955, and was completed on February 14, 1957. The foundation stone inscription was written by Zhou Enlai.

On December 2, 2017, it was selected into the second batch of China's 20th century architectural heritage list.

The tower is 22.2 meters high and its body is a regular dodecagon. On the lower part of the tower, there are 20 1.2-meter-high vivid portraits of the Chinese and Soviet people.

The two-story tower base is made of granite and has stairs on all four sides.

The tower body and railings are both carved from white snowflake rock. There are four reliefs at the base of the tower, representing Tiananmen Square, the Kremlin, a steelmaking blast furnace, the scenery of Lushun Port, and the Friendship Farm.
