
Zhang's Mansion, located at No. 46, Shaoshuaifu Lane, Chaoyang Street, Shenhe District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, also known as "Grand Marshal's Mansion" or "Young Marshal's Mansion", was the official residence and private residence of Zhang Zuolin and his eldest son Zhang Xueliang.
The Zhang Mansion was built in September 1914, the third year of the Republic of China, covering a total area of 36,000 square meters and a total construction area of 27,600 square meters.
Zhang Zuolin officially moved in in 1916, and the residence was subsequently expanded, gradually forming an architectural system consisting of four parts: the East Courtyard, the Middle Courtyard, the West Courtyard, and buildings outside the courtyard.
The architectural styles vary, including traditional Chinese, Chinese-Western, Roman, Nordic, and Japanese.
The main buildings include the Big Green House, the Small Green House, the Red Buildings in the West Courtyard and Miss Zhao Si's Building.
In the late 20th century, the "Zhang Family Mansion" was listed by the state as a national outstanding modern architectural complex.
