Aktas means "white stone mountain" in Kazakh, deriving its name from the predominantly white stone found on the mountain. This beautiful alpine grassland offers panoramic views of the Tianshan Mountains. A vast expanse of rolling grasslands leads to a pine forest that slopes down into the valley, and across from it, stone mountains covered in sparse grass. The Aktas Grassland possesses an otherworldly beauty, its vastness and expanse both breathtaking and tranquil.

Located near Yining City in Yili Prefecture, Xinjiang. Accessible by taxi or private car from Yining. Some local buses may reach nearby villages, but walking or horse riding is required to explore the grassland fully.
