In addition to atmospheric precipitation, groundwater is also replenished by surface runoff in mountainous areas and groundwater in bedrock fissures. The runoff direction of groundwater is roughly from north to south, and it flows into the Hohhot Plain in the form of underground runoff and surface water replenishment.
