The Xihai Peak Forest lies in the valley beneath the He Long bronze statue. It's a magical valley in Wulingyuan, where towering peaks resemble a mighty army. A short walk from the park is Yubi Peak, the landmark peak of Zhangjiajie and a standout among the Xihai Peak Forest. According to our tour guide, during heavy rain, sounds like gongs and drums, shouts of men and horses, and the neighing of horses can be heard from the bay, a natural recording of the battle between the Tujia rebels and the Ming Dynasty army. On clear afternoons, the Buddha's light can be seen in Shentang Bay.
