Introducing Mount Wutai

Mount Wutai is located at the northern end of the Taihang Mountain Range, spanning Wutai County, Fanshi County, Dai County, Yuanping City, and Dingxiang County of Xinzhou City, with a circumference of more than 500 miles.

One of the Four Famous Mountains of Buddhism, its name suggests its shape: it has five terraces, four in the center and one in the center. The area within the five peaks is called Tai Inner Peak, and the area outside the five peaks is called Tai Outer Peak. Because the mountain's climate is often cool, even in midsummer, it remains untouched by the scorching heat, earning it the nickname Qingliang Mountain. The Wutai Mountain region boasts a vibrant landscape of peaks, ravines, flowing valleys, verdant forests, and a vibrant, cool climate. It is a tourist destination that blends natural scenery, historical relics, ancient architecture, Buddhist culture, folk customs, and a summer retreat.
